What
is the difference between a "new title" and a "reorder title"
and why is there a price difference?
Most "embossing"
systems use hand-set type to imprint individual characters on a line of text. That
old-fashioned method has some serious limitations especially for today's modern typography
and fonts. See
this comparison.
Instead of old-fashioned hand-set type, Goldstamp uses computer-generated text and
graphics from which metal imprinting dies are created. This method provides a higher
quality imprint and ensures precise matching on future orders of the same title.
NEW CUSTOM TITLE
If the title will be different than any you have used previously (text wording
or font differences) a "New Title" is needed. We create a unique imprinting
die from the title to use for stamping your album cover(s). A unique reorder number
is issued for each new title. With each order, you will receive an updated "Previous
Titles" report listing your Reorder numbers.
REORDER TITLE (OR GRAPHIC)
If the same (exact) title/graphic will be reused as it was previously, this is called
a "Reorder Title/Graphic" and we will use the same imprinting die used
originally to ensure a precise match. We retain a library of dies used for your previous
orders and issue a unique Reorder number for each. To simplify reordering, the Reorder
numbers found on your "Previous Titles" report refer to the titles/graphics
you have used previously. There is no setup charge for reorder titles/graphics.

UPPER FRONT POSITION
Upper Front 1-line (New Title) = $24 ($12 first-use setup + $12 imprint)
Upper Front 2-line (New Title) = $28 ($16 setup + $12 imprint)
Upper Front 3-line (New Title) = $32 ($20 setup + $12 imprint)
Upper Front graphic/logo (New) = $49 ($37 setup + $12 imprint)
Reorder Upper Front (title or graphic), $12
UPPER SPINE POSITION
Upper Spine (1 to 4 lines) (New Title) = $19 ($7 setup + $12 imprint)
Upper Spine graphic/logo (New) = $39 ($27 setup + $12 imprint)
Reorder Upper Spine (title or graphic), $12
LOWER SPINE POSITION
An exception to the above is found with the Lower Spine position where, due to
the nature of that position and how it is normally used to identify names, dates
and volume numbers, each Lower Spine imprint is expected to differ so there is no
separate setup charge for first-use of a Lower Spine title and therefore, no Reorder
number is used for this position.
